It is day number I don’t know what of the lockdown. And it has been eons since I put up a new recipe. So, I decided to start simple. Turmeric Ginger Matcha Latte. I’m drinking one right now. I drink one most days for the mid-day caffeine boost.
You know what I can’t stand, are really long blogs when I just want the recipe. So let’s get into it. Fuck SEO word counts and search rankings, here is what you came for:
Turmeric Ginger Matcha Latte
#AllergicToEverything Turmeric Ginger Matcha Latte – in the time of Corona, or not. A midday pick-you-up.
- 1 mug-full Almond Milk I use unsweetened vanilla, add a splash of vanilla if you only have plain almond milk on hand
- 1 tsp Matcha Powder
- 2 tiny scoops Stevia or sweetener of your choice
- 3 good shakes Turmeric ground
- 3 good shakes Ginger ground
- 2 grids Black Pepper to activate the turmeric
- 1 quick grind Himalayan Pink Salt or a tiny pinch of any sea salt
Fill up your mug with Almond Milk (or part almond milk, part water depending on how rich you want it), pour it into a small saucepan over low-medium heat.
Add matcha, stevia, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and salt to the saucepan and whisk. Stir occasionally, until the liquid is just starting to bubble and the spices appear to have become one with the milk.
Pour it back into your mug – while it cools to drinking temperature, give the pan and whisk a quick wash so you don’t have to do it later.
Use any kind of milk you want.
Leave out the spices if you don’t have them.
